Ryuko Matoi Cosplay - Wip 1 by GiH5 Ryuko Matoi Cosplay - Wip 1 by GiH5
I'M STILL ALIVE !!
This month is a HUGE rush !! I have lots of costume to do for the next week since I had commissions from friends before Halloween. I can't wait for next weekend and wear my secret cosplay ~ ^_^
Right now I am working on Ryuko Matoi Cosplay that I started this week. It wasn't planned at all. Actually, I started watching Kill la Kill and this show is just so fucking badass. So I woke up a morning of this week and told myself: lol I'm doing dis. SO I DID !! Small touch up left, but almost done :D
I have two other costumes to finish before next saturday c:
I really wanted to do that prop so bad so I can add it to my portfolio ^_^

Before people ask, I'm using pink/purplish house isolation foam to sculpt the half scissor. It's really easy to cut out of it and then sand it. ^__^

Hope you like it!!

jigsaw c: electronic knife can do the job too and I sculpted it with an ordinary knife + sanding with a 80 size. If you don't know what the number of the sanding paper means, overall, the bigger the number is, the smoother your surface will be. But you have to start from a low number like 80 and then going up smoothly c':

Oh I love his! I wanna make same blade. I have a question - how thick is this foam?

mmh thick you mean the size ? It's about  1 inches. If you meant 'thick' by the consistency, well it is quite solid but fragile at the same time. I used this foam because it's easy to work with and light. You just need to cover it with fiberglass or woodglue (in my option, I used woodglue) to make it more solid and also, this foam doesn't tolerate paint so well, second reason why you have to cover it with something.
